Relocating to Oshkosh Wisconsin in 1998, Howards developed a line of high performance engine components including forged steel connecting rods, crankshafts, billet mains caps, forged 2618 aluminum pistons along with numerous new camshaft profiles and valve train components.

As Howards Cams & Racing Components, we've continued race bred development of drag racing cams and as a result of the move, Howards Cams expanded into many other forms of racing. Today our history of continued cam, valve train and performance engine component innovation is well documented. Products such as Direct Lube, mechanical flat tappet lifters increase oil at the friction surface, allowing greater RPM and spring presure. Our Precision Dense Forged Connecting Rods are simply the most advanced and reliable 6" Chevy rods available. Manufactured from ASTM 4260, these forged powered metal technology connecting rods have an extremely dense gain structure, when compared to billet or conventional forged rods. Not brittle like OE material can be, these rods feature fracture cap technology and come complete with ARP2000 bolts or L-19 cap screws. Howards is so confident in these connecting rods that they come with a one-year unconditional warranty against rod breakage. Our latest forged steel 10 degree valve locks are stronger than machined steel locks and cost less.
